This listing is for a lovely German bisque head. Oll incised “Germany, Heinrich Handwerck, Simon & Halbig”, there is a number 4 below neckline. Reference tells me 1909+ Germany by. With head being made by Simon & Halbig. She measures just over 24 tall being a bisque socket head on strung, composition wood doll body. Body shows overall wear, paint loss, scuffs, some repaint/restoration but all together intact, she has all fingers, paint loss on fingers. Doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrist, legs and knees, strung fine. She displays well sitting or standing with a doll stand. Doll has a “sweet” expressive face with blue glass sleepy eyes on a rocker inside her head “that wish to STAY OPEN”, I have not attempted to close them, possibly a previous owner added a little glue, I don’t know her history. She has painted lashes around her eyes, brush stroked molded brown eye brows, she has open mouth with upper teeth, tiny paint rub on left cheek, nice color blush on her face. She has pierced ears but is not wearing earrings. Her brunette wig is older, possibly synthetic, it slips over a pate on her head. Doll wears vintage gown, vintage cape, slip, pantaloons, stockings and shoes. I flashed inside her head and do not see any cracks or hairlines, a bit dirty inside the head.
