Antique German 13, circa 1880’s, Belton St yle Doll , with a s olid flat dome top, which is an uncut pate, that has two holes in head, so it can be attached to the ball jointed body. The Belton dolls were normally made for the French market. Doll has glass brown set eyes, surrounded by beautiful painted eye lashes. She has pierced ears, and a beautiful heart shaped outlined lips. Bisque on head is very pale, as are her cheeks. The head has been lighted before head was attached showing no cracks, hairlines or repairs. She does have 4 firing pops on her face that are hard to see. There is a small square piece of bisque that wasn’t cleaned off back of head before firing. Only identification on head is an incised 5 on back. This seems to be the normal, because makers are mostly unknown. Her composition body has no repairs , but it does have crazing cracks, that are tight (no gaps). Her original clothing was hand made and unusable so I replaced them with a beautiful vintage dress made with antique materials, with lace and gold ribbon accents. The bonnet is matched to the dress, as are shoes. Her socks are original, and pantaloons are antique. Wig is a golden strawberry color, vintage but never used, by Wendy Feidt.
