Antique German China Head Doll, with Brush-stroked Bangs and Molded Hair Band. Antique German china head doll, circa 1850-60, 15 tall. I was told she was made by Dressel & Kister, but she has no makers marks. The doll has a very pale pink tint and has molded black hair with many tiny strokes around her hairline. She also has a ribbed molded hairband and exposed ears. She has painted blue eyes with red eyelid lines and a smiling mouth. She has no chips or cracks, but her nose is a little scuffed looking, not as shiny as her cheeks. Her deep shoulder plate has a suggestion of shoulders and breasts. Her body is muslin, hard stuffed, and is stitch jointed. Her upper arms are either covered or replaced, the fabric looks newer. Her china lower arms are perfect but both are left arms! Her lower legs are also china, and she has dark salmon boots with black painted buttons. The doll is dressed in layers of vintage and antique clothes. Please excuse my poor ironing. She has gorgeous antique split-crotch bloomers with French seams, tucks and lace. She has a cotton half slip with a scalloped hem, trimmed with lace. She has a cotton chemise with lace at the arms. She has a fancy tie-on blouse (ties at the waist) which is lined and has delicate embroidery, and lace at the neck. She has a skirt of salmon pink silk, which has wide needle lace and pale blue embroidery above the hem. Her long pelisse is also salmon silk with needle lace at the sleeve cuffs, front opening and hem. The hem has more pale blue embroidery above the lace. The silk ribbon ties are fragile and one has been mended. Please message with any questions or concerns. I want my dolls to find the perfect home!
