Beautiful antique German doll made in late 1890s. Gorgeous face, big blue sleep eyes with painted lower lashes, original real upper lashes, painted eyebrows, open mouth with four perfect teeth, and a dimple in her chin. She looks like a beautiful little girl. She is wearing a lovely French. Blonde wig of human hair. Body is wood and composition and is in generally excellent condition. Original finish, all fingers and toes intact, one finger make have been repaired at some point. She has the usual wear at the joints but no major problems. Stringing is very good and she poses well. She is wearing a nice pair of black pointed toe shoes with long white socks, She is wearing nice white pantaloons with lace and a silk ribbon inside the waist casing. There are some pink silk ribbon accents. Her creamy white dress is antique. There is eyelet lace around the neck, pleating on the bodice, and buttons down the back. The are a few spots where some tiny holes have been repaired. A two inch wide pink silk ribbon ties into a large bow around her waist. A large pink silk matching ribbon is tied on the right side of her wig. Looks like she is ready for a party or a visit to Grandma. This girl has been well cared for. While many of these dolls were made, this one is in excellent shape. I often find dolls like her missing their eye lashes, or with broken eyes and damage to their bisque.
