Antique China Head Doll Germany
Want to play dress-up? You bring the dress, we’ve got the doll! After decades of resting, this 150-year old Antique German China Doll is ready to have some fun. At a height of 20 inches, this perfect porcelain shoulder-head doll proudly stands with forward combed sculpted blonde hair on top, surrounded by short graduated length curls. She has painted detailed blue eyes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, and a closed coral mouth set into a pleasant expression. Her cheeks are nicely blushed with pale pink, and her features are well-defined. The shoulder head measures 4 3/4 inches high, and is 4 1/4 inches wide. Her hand-stitched-jointed shapely torso has black kid boots, lovely kid arms and pretty bric-a-brac outlining the upper part of her bright red body. The middle section of her legs are blue. The rest of her body is made of white fabric. Red, white and blue! Do you wonder if this German shoulder-head was sent to America; and if her cottage-industry body-maker was sewing this doll while celebrating the United States Centennial in 1876? Perhaps this explains why this doll’s very unusual body is made of patriotic fabric in red white and blue! I have never seen another body like this, have you?
