Antique German 27 child Doll By Franz Schmidt, all heads made by Simon & HALBIG. Factory for Franz Schmidt opened in Germany in 1890. Marked on back of this dolls head is S & C and #13. Her beautiful bisque head is perfect. Her head has been lighted to check for hairlines, and none were found. Head also has NO chips, cracks, nose or cheek rubs. Her wonderful brilliant blue sleep eyes work smoothly, and eyelids look good. Her eyebrows are hand brushed and feathered, nicely painted eyelashes around eyes, open mouth and pretty painted lips that display 4 large teeth. Composition ball jointed child body is an original goldish color. No repaint, or repaired areas on body, but has scuffs. The tummy for some reason shows its pink undercoating in a large spot. She is wearing an antique navy type dark blue and white wool dress and jacket, with two rows of brass buttons. Her matching blue beret looks nice. There are a few holes in the wool outfit. Her original pink socks and shoes are antiques. Also has nice underclothes, slip and pantaloons.
