Antique early German Belton closed mouth doll made for the French market. She is dressed in her wonderful original French multi layer costume with bustle in back in burgundy velvet, silk, and cotton with metallic lace trim. Her bisque socket head has no chips, cracks, or hairlines. I see a tiny kiln fleck on her left cheek. She is marked with a number 3, I do not know her maker. She has deeply molded features with French blue spiral set eyes and shapely closed mouth. Her ears are pierced with no chips, she wears tiny real garnet earrings. Her blonde mohair wig is nice, very old, not sure if it is original. She wears a woven straw bonnet with ribbon & flowers. Her socks and shoes look original and fit her perfectly. The bottom of the shoes and marked with C. In an oval mark. Her white leather shoes show age wear, one has the original flower on it, the other has been replaced with crochet one. Her body is nice, tightly strung, she has two small fingers on her right hand with touch up. Her clothing shows age wear, especially to the bottom silk pleated skirt in tan silk, a small tear in the velvet jacket near the right shoulder. She is nice cabinet size Fashion lady with her wonderful antique clothing that make her special!
