Old German Hopf Violin For Restoration Piece Damaged Family Heirloom Vtg Antique
I don’t know much about this piece as it belonged to my late grandfather and I don’t know much about violins in general. I do know that it’s not currently in playing condition and would be a project for someone with an interest in fixing it up. It measures 23.5 long. There is a peg in there rolling around. It says, repaired Nov – 51 by Frank Hunter Violin Maker Elkhart, Ind. The violin did work properly when I got it but then the part that holds the strings near the bottom broke. I’m seeing some scratches but the areas that look like cracks do not flex when pressure is applied so I don’t think it is a crack that goes all the way through.
