Very sweet little 1920’s teddy bear Jopi or Farnell! ? This lovely little teddy bear dates from the 1920’s and although I think he has some of the characteristics. Of an early Farnell bear, I have also found a musical Jopi bear that he is very similar too, albeit without. A musical mechanism and eyes that have been replaced with boot buttons. He is a lovely looking bear with a wonderful profile, prominent hump and large feet. Ted stands at just 13 tall and is five ways jointed with all his joints working smoothly so he can be. His head, body and limbs are very firmly stuffed with wood wool and he has been loved. But he still retains a fair coverage of his pale gold mohair plush with overall thinning and some bare. Patches and I would estimate he has retained a approximately 60%+ coverage overall. Boot button eyes are replacements and his pads have all been recovered at a later date but his nose. And mouth stitching are original as are the five claw stitches on each foot. There are two tiny pin holes on his cheeks and a break in the stuffing in his arms but overall he is in. Good sturdy condition with a very endearing and expressive face and lots of charm and character. And he would make a lovely addition to any hug of bears.
