Best price on the internet for a Queen Louise Doll! I have given her a’new’ OLD Victorian Dress with beautiful detailing and lace. It has some minor age related rips/holes but displays beautifully! She needed this to complete her period appropriate look. She is really outstanding in bisque color and clothing and wig! This 25 tall doll is a bisque head & composition body model known as Queen Louise. Based most likely on the very popular 18th C Queen Louise of Prussia. I don’t know if she is a Wolf or Armand Marseille made head, see marks. She has a very unique pretty delicate face with narrow nose. Her auburn mohair original wig is loosely rolled and pinned into a braided bun at back but I replaced that with a NEW sausage curl wig that is Superb. She has an original pate. She has a nice oval shaped face with a dimpled chin, slim nose, gorgeous bisque coloring and fixed brown eyes. It’s a lovely somewhat pale bisque with extremely minor rubs see pics. I clean the bisque gently to remove any grime with a mr. Clean eraser or wet washcloth, you can do same if you’re gentle with no ill effects. She had a partially chipped tooth that was patched and you can’t even tell unless you really inspect it, I only used a professional putty and porcelain paint to fill it in so it looks natural but of course is removable, although replacing actual porcelain teeth can be expensive to just find them so I would suggest leave it she looks great. See photos of both hands and in photo 3 you can see it BEFORE the repair. Other than those two VERY minor issues she is really nice and displays super pretty. The bisque head has no defects, the makers mark include the numbers 30 at top of head back, and 9 at rear base of neck. She is wearing a period buttoned back sleeveless cotton top and skirt and pantaloons underneath trimmed in lace. She has new hand crocheted silk socks and cute lace up shoes with little flower accents in a beige suede like material. All clothing is clean. All together she is a really VERY pretty faced Queen Louise with a unique expressive somewhat pensive look. Right now she is the BEST Queen Louise on the web for this price! (Sorry, her toy monkey in photo NOT included). I also run markdowns quite often like this week.
