Simon & Halbig 1299. Bisque head, composition bent limb body. Blue glass sleep eyes. Original silk gown with chemise, bonnet & booties. Presented here is a gorgeous Simon & Halbig rare 1299 baby doll. She has a bisque head, marked on the back, no chips or cracks. She has beautiful deep blue sleep glass eyes with finely painted lashes, feathered brows, open mouth with two teeth, lovely coloring and wonderful dimpled cheeks and chin. The wig is original, it is brown hand tied human hair in a short bob with bangs, the original pate and wig have been removed so there is some old plaster around the edges. The wig is good, the hair is soft and full, the base shows age but just needs to be glued back in place. The body is composition with the original finish which is good with some finish wear from age, the hands and feet are all good with original paint. There is the remnant of an old paper label on the back. The gown is absolutely fabulous, made of fine ivory color silk and lace with tiny pin tucks and bows on the shoulders. The lace looks like an old needle lace, please view the photos, it is very fine. Underneath she wears a full length one piece cotton chemise, which is just lovely itself with micro pin tucks and a lace edged flounce. She has a cloth diaper and little knit booties. The bonnet is gorgeous silk with embroidery, a ruffled tulle edge and tulle rosette on top. The clothing is all in excellent antique condition, it shows perfectly, there are some small splits in the silk between the folds, a few small holes in the ties of the bonnet.
