925 silver 1944 issued German Military Deck Chronometer officers watch 60mm with caliber 162. The movement is of course exceptional and a work of art on its own as is the absolutely gorgeous silvered deck chronometer dial with blued hands. But the truly noteworthy thing about this watch is the German Marine insignia of the Third Reich. It makes the watch a real piece of history. Many/most of these rare military assigned watches had their logos polished away; it makes sense as it has come to stand for the evils of the Nazi regime. This particular watch however looks much the way it did at the time it was assigned. Much more than a paper weight this is a real item of horological interest: I can say from first hand experience that this watch has an effect when you pull it out and show it to somebody. I feel it goes without saying this watch is something special… But I’ll say it anyways. Diameter: 60 mm w/out crown, mm w/crown, mm lug to lug. Lug Width: mm at the lugs tapering to mm (will take a mm). Case: 925 silver correctly hallmarked and numbered case in excellent original condition. Dial: SILVERED with blued hands and black arabic numerals, up down indicator at 12 o’clock, large subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock. Condition: 90% (9.0 of 10): incredible condition factoring for age, military issuance and the logo it is engraved with… The fact it exists in such clean condition is really quite amazing, working well.
