German WW2 A Lange & Sohne German military B-UHR observers wristwatch with caliber 48.1 movement. Beautiful high end movement originally found in the A Lange and Sohne pocket watches in the form of caliber 48 and then modified by A Lange and Sohne to Center seconds for use in these watches (cal 48.1). This watch has the combination of type A hands with type B dial which looks fantastic, I have seen around three watches like this over time and it is certainly my favourite configuration. This watch has not been around the trade and is fresh to the market, I have fitted a new plexi as the original was crazed and cracked but it will be included in the sale of course. The dial is as perfect as you could ever wish for with all the radium being in tact and original, the original radium is also in the blued steel hands too, I have under lacquered the hands so the radium will not fall out for another 80 years. The movement is very clean and is running well with a amplitude of around 280 so the movement is very healthy and clean. The jewels are not dry either. The rare original strap has been cut down for wear on the wrist and I have in fact been wearing this watch and have loved every minute, it is large at 55mm not including the crown but anyone who has seen this watch on my wrist has said Wow! I have owed all of these watches at one time or another and really wish I could have built a collection of each example but being a watch trader means I have to keep turning watches over to stay in business, it is great to own these watches for as long as I can though. These watches at the moment in all their forms are vastly undervalued, looking around the web prices are going upwards but I believe they will go much higher in the near future and this watch will be yet another watch I wish I could have kept hold of.
