SPLENDID ANTIQUE GERMAN BISQUE DOLL. BELTON – TYPE (CLOSED MOUTH). This doll is from a smoke free home and has no odors. Oh look at this face. This belton-type antique bisque doll from Germany is 13 1/2 inches tall. For price reference see page # 109 in the book,’Doll Values’ 13th Edition by Linda Edward. This doll has a Bru-look face. This doll is seldom seen. Her bisque head does not have any hairlines – cracks/chips as examined by a bright light. The head does not have any repainting as examined by a black light. There is a repair on the left index finger that is only noticeable with a black light. The little finger on the right hand has been broken off and glued back on. The bottom part of the knee ball joints on the both legs has been glued. The upper legs have a different body finish (stain) then the rest of the body. But they look the right size and fit. I believe that the wig is original or at least very old. Her socks are antique as are her shoes. She wears new lace trimmed underwear. Her dress is antique red velvet with lace trim and rhinestone buckle. She has a matching antique red velvet hat with lace trim bow with ribbon.
