The egg separates into two halves and retains its original patterned paper interior lining along with remnants of the original pink crinkle paper candy filler, a rare survival that adds to its authenticity and appeal. Constructed from layered paper strips with original scalloped seam trim, this large example remains structurally intact with expected age-related wear including surface rubbing, scattered paint loss, and a visible seam opening typical of over-100-year-old papier-mâché, but no major losses to the artwork. A charming and highly collectible pre-WWI Easter display piece that presents beautifully and is far superior to later 20th-century reproductions.
