Antique German Devil Halloween Candy Container 1920s Composition
Antique German devil head candy container dates to the 1920s, the best era of German Halloween candy container production. Height is 2-3/4 inches. Bottom plug has embossed hand writing. Appears to read “Gies” which is a common German surname. Cracks and losses to paint from age. Losses to brown paint on upper lip. All black has been repainted. Original black was too degraded. Devils are the top of the Halloween pyramid for rarity. There have only been reproduction examples in this style offered recently.
