Antique German Grace S Putnam Bye-lo Bisque Baby Dolloriginal Dresswow
ANTIQUE GERMAN GRACE S PUTNAM BYE-LO BISQUE BABY DOLLORIGINAL DRESSWOW! This is an antique German Bye-Lo Baby Doll by Grace. The doll is about 11 /2 tall with a frog cloth body. The doll has a bisque socket head with celluloid hands and brown eyes. One side of the doll’s cheek has a small cheek rub. The middle finger on one hand has been broken and glued back on at the bottom of the finger. The doll is wearing a long white dress with pink ribbon ties at the cuffs and a pink ribbon at the bottom front, and lace trim around the cuffs, neckline, hem and down the front. The dress does not have a back closure and has a safety pin. The original dress has a tag on the front that reads K and K, Reg US Pat OFF, BYE-LO BAB, some words that I can’t make out and there a Grace S. Putnam facsimile signature at the bottom. The doll is wearing a cloth diaper with a large safety pin. The doll’s body has some newer stitches at the neck to keep the head tight along with a string tie. The doll’s body has some brown spotting and browning around the crier. The doll has had some repairs in the past and I have included the invoice. The crier has been replaced with a newer one, but I have what I believe to be the original one that I will include. The eyes have been reset, but they have come out. The original eyes were loose in her head, so I took them out to keep them from breaking. The doll’s head is marked COPR Grace S. Putnam, Made in Germany. The doll also has been appraised twice that I know about and I have included the appraisals. Also there is an copied newspaper story about Bye-Lo Dolls. This antique German Grace S. Putnam Bye-Lo doll baby appears to be in good antique used condition, except as noted and is offered as is.
