Antique German Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) T Fahrner silver brooch c 1900
Exquisite German Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) silver brooch with gold wash on top, from a very elegant in the style era, c 1900. Could be attributed to a design by Max Joseph Gradl for the very famous Theodor Fahrner Silversmiths company. Featuring beautiful stylized botanical or trumpet-flowers (Cala-Lilies) motifs, accentuated with vibrant turquoise and blue enamel work. Bearing 925 stamp for sterling silver and a deer head. After thorouhgh research it has been concluded that having the 925 stamp and Austro-Hungarian deer head import silver assay stamp and because the fan trumpet flower motif is uniquely documented as a Gradl -designed Fahrner masterpiece, the lack of a “TF” logo does not ruin its authenticity.
