ANTIQUE GERMAN PARIAN DOLL – C. Countess Dagmar – Circa: 1862 – 20 Inches Tall. This doll is from a smoke free home and has no odors. Is there a more beautiful Parian doll then a C. For reference see page #64 in’Identifying German parian Dolls’ by the late Mary Gorham Krombholz. This Parian’s bisque is perfect. And this wonderful example of doll art is over 150 years old. This example will grace any doll collection. Please check the photos of the hair – WOW! This example has a molded bow just behind the forehead curls. Take a good look at the photo of the back of the head. How many hours would it take to do your hair like this. Of course, the’Countess’ had several maids to help her. Her shoulder plate is molded. The arms and legs are most likely original and the main body is vintage but not original. She has socks and no shoes. She wears lace trimmed pantaloons; a fine lace slip that is lined; and a hand sewn lace trimmed red dress with a pattern.
