Antique German Porcelain Fairing Trinket Box Victorian Figurine Box 6 In a Bed
Wonderful and unusual antique porcelain Fairing-style trinket box depicting. Six children tucked into a bed. With three children’s heads at each end. On each side a child has a foot sticking out from under the blanke. Such a beautiful well made piece. It looks to be hand painted. The children rest against pale blue pillows beneath a hand-painted pink coverlet decorated with tiny red flowers. The piece measures approximately. 5¼ inches long and 3 inches high. The underside bears a. Faded blue factory mark, impressed factory/model markings, and a hand-painted red decorator’s number. The blue mark appears similar to marks associated with. Conta & Boehme of Pößneck, Germany. A major producer of Victorian porcelain Fairings, but it is too indistinct for me to make a definitive attribution. German, probably late 19th century, possibly Conta & Boehme. A beautiful, rare and happy piece in very good condition.
