This is a Rare! Antique German Glass Christmas Ornament Angel Tree Topper – For Feather Tree! Figural Glass Tree Top featuring: an Angel with long, flowing hair; delicately painted facial features; hands clasped on her chest, in prayer; dressed in a long flowing robe; spun glass scalloped wings anchored with a Dresden Star; standing on a cloud of curly fluffy angel hair which is adorned with a Dresden script applique -‘Merry Christmas. There is beautiful deep molding on the ornament & interior silvering. Tree Top is 7″ tall, pike opening to insert on feather tree branch is a mere 0.25″ wide. Wear consistent with age: some wear to flesh paint on face & hands; some marring of gown on reverse (appears from some previous glue); glue residue on spun glass wings and a darkened spot under the Dresden star; loss of silvering & darkening of pike; wear/oxidation of Dresden star & script.
