Simon + Halbig 1079 German Bisque Antique Doll 21. A pretty doll, this Simon & Halbig 1079. No damage to the head, or to the body, which retains its creamy yellow original paint. The face has the strong, molded eyebrows and dainty mouth, with a dimple on the chin. Large brown eyes have been reset on the sleep rocker (see photo for interior of eye set) and sleep. As usual with these old eye rockers, this one is delicate and the head is packed with paper for stability. The doll wears a white cotton dress with insertion lace and tucks, and pantalets. Vintage black oilcloth shoes match the black of the stockings. As far as the wig, it’s a newer human hair model, and the pate closing the open head is antique.
