Very Rare Antique German China Doll with Blonde Fancy Hair and Pierced Ears
Offered for sale is a very rare German china doll. The doll is 16.5 inches tall on a cloth body with china lower arms and legs. The head has a very long neck with an elaborate hair style with many curls. It also has a black comb on the top. The ears are pierced and has her original long dangling earrings. Her eyes are a vivid blue. There is very nice modeling through the neck and upper shoulders. The doll is nicely dressed in antique fabric with lace and pleated ruffles. It has a blue satin sash and bustle. The legs have orange china boots and the arms and hands have nice modeling. The head is in very nice condition. It has some firing pits typical of an early china. One eyebrow has slight paint loss. The china arms are perfect. One boot has a hairline around the top. The body has been remade of antique muslin using the old body as a pattern. The original body was in very poor condition. The dress is in very nice condition but has a few age spots. I have seen this doll only once before in 65 years of collecting.
