Vintage Antique Charm Bracelet German Silver Enamel Valentine Hearts Cupids Love. This is a unique collection of tiny vintage and antique Valentine sweetheart charms of German and Austrian origin on a vintage German charm bracelet. The charms, which have been collected over many years and assembled here, are mostly vintage; c. 1940’s to 50’s, with a couple of antique ones (the large central heart charm, and the cupid charm to the right, which date to around 1920). There are a total of 25 charms. Some of my favorites are the basse-taille enameled red heart in a birdcage, the cupid with a bouquet of flowers and love letter, the little hut charm with doors opening on each side to reveal enameled red hearts, and the awesome hotel key with room 777 and enameled red heart. I should point out that many of the charms are quite hard to find. During the 1940’s and 50’s, when American charm makers were producing charms such as Terranova, Wells, et al, these charms were the German counterpoints. They’re a bit smaller in size, but the sentiments and historical references are endearing, particularly the romantic ones! The charms are as followsclockwise from the central heart charm. Antique Cupid charm with bow and arrow. Austrian import stamp to suspension loop. Vintage charm two hearts with arrow through. Indistinguishable stamp to suspension loop. Vintage enameled red heart charm with smiling face to symbolize’happy heart. Vintage love letter charm with enameled red heart. Vintage 2-part charm with two dangling hearts on chains which read’Ich’ (Me) and’Du’ (You). Vintage enameled red heart charm 12. Vintage musical score charm with lyrics from popular 40’s love song: “Dir nur du und du wieder du” (You only you and you again you) 13. Rare vintage chimney sweeper charm with enameled red heart. Engraved date to the reverse: 12-25-48. Vintage miniature padlock heart charm 15. Vintage enameled red heart charm stamped’835. Vintage umbrella charm with two hearts below. Indistinguishable stamp to suspension loop;’LL’ maker’s mark. Vintage heart charm with arrow through. Vintage 2-part charm: hotel key with the numbers’777′ and enameled red heart (luck and love). Stamped’835′ to top of key. Vintage charm two hearts entwined in a belt. The’E’ shape on the belt probably has some significance. Indistinguishable stamp to reverse. Vintage lucky horseshoe charm with enameled red heart. Vintage key to my heart charm. FJ’ or’JF’ maker’s mark; import stamp to suspension loop. Vintage enameled red heart charm 23. Vintage birdcage charm with basse-taille enameled red heart inside. This is an amazing little charm with great detail. The heart is enameled on both sides. A wonderful analogy for a’captured’ heart. Vintage charm two hearts in 3/4 time. The charm is, I believe from a song in reference to a 1930’s operetta and film in the 1940’s by the same name. A waltz is danced in 3/4 time. Vintage cherub or Cupid with enameled heart. Stamped’835′ to the reverse. All of the charms are in very good condition. The charm bracelet and all of the charms are made of Continental silver. The charm bracelet measures a little shy of 7 1/2 wide. The links are 1/4 wide. The largest charm (center heart) measures 9/16″ by 5/8″, and the smallest charm measures 1/4.
