Antique, Bavarian, carved antler Brooch with a Stag. This small brooch from Germany measures 1 1/16″ (4.4cm) wide, 1 1/4″ (3.3cm) high and 3/8 1 cm deep. This small piece is intricately carved with care and special attention to detail. Note the fanned and scalloped edges and foliage surrounding the jumping stag with finely executed limbs and body. Simple metal cross pin on the back with slide closure. In excellent vintage condition. A wonderful example of traditional Trachten (folk dress) jewelry which was worn with a Dirdl (German/Austrian folk dress), on a traditional lace blouse, to fasten a scarf or on/with Lederhosen (German/Austrian leather pants/shorts).
