This is an extremely rare and desirable half doll and a cat-lover’s “must-have” item. This young girl is cradling her small kitty in her arms. The cat and his little mistress both have loving expressions on their faces as the kitty snuggles its head against the little girl’s cheek. What is so appealing about this half doll is that it artistically captures the special bond between animal lovers and their pets. Beautifully designed and executed, the little girl’s hands and arms are molded to surround and support the precious animal she holds. Her blond hair is styled in child-like waves and ringlets tied with purple bows. Her dress has a purple bodice with large white shawl collar and a green insert in the front. This rare, appealing half doll is mounted on a large heavy pincushion that a previous owner covered with a silk overskirt. Huge velvet flowers are appliqued over and around the skirt. Age has taken its toll on the fragile silk fabric, and it is tattered now. The appliqued flowers are in good condition. This original presentation is still intact and a fabulous, very rare find… And, as a cat lover, this has been the absolute favorite of my half doll collection. Maker: Muller & Company, Germany.
