This lovely doll was my Grandmother’s. She was born in 1899 in Germany. I have had this doll forever and no one in my family wants her. She had a mark on her face so the lady that re-strung and redid her hair for me did her makeup on her cheeks as well to cover the mark. The makeup/ paint on her cheeks is not symmetrical. The lady who repaired the doll is a lovely person, so I did not criticize or mention this. She was so pleased with her work (and loved this doll) that she has been doing for over 50 years. She did glue the wig on covering the markings. The head also does not move, I do not remember if it was jointed at one time, but it currently does not move. The teeth and eyes are beautiful. No chips or holes on body. All fingers and toes intact. One of the big toes looks like it was repaired. The dress has some damage, possibly moths, however I do not have moths or have had them since living where I have been living for 30 plus years. I never noticed this before, but it is possible the dress has been damaged for years. My mother had her re-strung in the 1970’s, but when I got her she needed it again. It was restrung with elastic, I believe originally this doll was held together by coils. Original dress and slip and shoes. New laces on shoes. The stockings were added by the doll repair lady. The hair is synthetic, but original as far as I know. Smoke-Free, feline free, immaculate home. Thanks so much for looking!
